I've often thought that someone needs to write a book along those lines for the place where I come from. I guess I could call it "Being Michigan". When I came back from New Orleans, it hit me hard that a lot of my behavior is cultural, as I watched an easy going demeanor dissolve into stand-offishness.

People don't think the fly-over states have much personality, but we do, bitter and jaded though it may be.

I'm here thanking you for your kind words? :P

Reading your words made me think about what "home" is, the next book I was going to write about is called "Being Indian" and I've been thinking about what that means, I've only lived there (in India) for 12 years. Anyway, I'll philosophize on my own blog, thank you again for your encouragement, as always :)
